HistoryACTIS had from its founding in 1986 until the end 1999 the exclusive representation of DATA GENERAL, a US manufacturer of servers, originally of only mainframes and over time as well as of open architecture products. The company represented CLARiiON storage systems, which originated as part of DATA GENERAL, but became an autonomous company due to their huge success. The number of installed server systems in Greece was exceeded 300 systems, residing in large public organizations, public utility organizations, municipalities, industries, commercial companies, insurance organizations, banks, etc. ACTIS had also the exclusive representation of ACUCOBOL, a product of ACUCORP INC, a US company providing software for programmers utilizing COBOL. In 1999, after the merger of the US DATA GENERAL with EMC2, ACTIS continued to maintain the installations, while broadening its products and services. Since 2000 ACTIS concentrated in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) market and specialised in Document Imaging Solutions, conducting feasibility studies, installation, configuration, training and support of the ECM SAPERION. Additionally, ACTIS undertook document imaging services for corporate clients, using specialised scanning software and SCAMAX high-volume scanners, produced by INOTEC AG, which currently represents in Greece. |
